Saber cuanta memoria RAM tengo en Linux

Comando para mostrar la memoria RAM

Con el comando free mostramos información de la memoria RAM de nuestra máquina linux, como la memoria total, memoria utilizada, memoria libre, etc.

Ejemplo:

# free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 3913388 3521792 391596 0 124596 2969828
-/+ buffers/cache: 427368 3486020
Swap: 4192956 284 4192672

También podemos mostrar información de la memoria utilizando el filesystem especial /proc con el siguiente comando:

# cat /proc/meminfo
MemTotal: 3913388 kB
MemFree: 390604 kB
Buffers: 125360 kB
Cached: 2969840 kB
SwapCached: 0 kB
Active: 528848 kB
Inactive: 2778596 kB
HighTotal: 0 kB
